year agoIf you're into a rock/alternative vibe, I highly recommend it! This themed bar has an edgy, almost Rob Zombie-esque aesthetic that adds to its dark and mysterious allure. I initially wanted to visit just to see what it looked like inside, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Witch’s Brew, which was a solid drink, and the overall setting made for a unique experience. The space is on the smaller side, which encourages conversation—if you don’t mind yelling over the music! One of my favorite parts was the dungeon seating , which added to the immersive atmosphere. If you visit, don’t forget to check out the second floor—I almost missed it because I was a little nervous, but it was worth it! The courtyard is also a must-see; I absolutely loved it. While I see The Dungeon as more of a one-and-done stop for myself, I’d definitely go back if someone I was traveling with wanted to experience it. Overall, a must-visit for anyone who loves rock, alt, and a bit of the eerie! 🤘🏽

2 years agoAwesome little Goth bar in the French Quarter! The venue is small but very well decorated and the bartenders were friendly and sexy! The atmosphere is provided by the customers by means of a jukebox! Which meant we got to choose the music which was appreciated by everyone! When I was fone with my selections other patrons were asking me to choose more selections. They had over 5o bands and more then 300 songs to choose from. Great selections and variety make it easy to find something for your tastes! The beers here were affordable and it really is worth checking out. Really enjoyed the place and people. While were there there wasnt a wait to get in which was also nice! Spent a decent amount of time here with a new friend from Spain made earlier in the evening. Who also seemed to enjoy themselves as well! This is one of several dark options when trying to enjoy the night!

year agoVery cool place to stop for a quick drink. Gotta walk thru a dark alley to get to their door. No photos allowed but I snagged one of the outside. The bar tender was nice. Very dark and laid back with Gothic style decor.

11 months agoThe Dungeon is hands down my favorite bar in NOLA. The decor is awesome, the ambiance is great. There's an excellent selection of drinks. The entryway through the alley is really cool, and the bouncers are very friendly. Can't recommend this place enough if you are a fan of metal!

month agoThe Dungeon Bar is one of the most unique and memorable spots in New Orleans! The atmosphere is incredible, with its dark, gothic vibe and distinctive décor that perfectly captures the city's mysterious charm. The drinks were well-made, reasonably priced, and the bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the energy fun throughout the night. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this is a must-stop destination if you're looking for something different from the typical Bourbon Street experience. I can't wait to come back on my next trip to New Orleans!

3 weeks agoBartenders were perfect - fast service with an appropriate attitude for a dungeon! Atmosphere was better than you'd expect. Prices were not outrageous either. Overall a great experience.

2 months agoWe visited the dungeon on vacation…. I loved it! It is small but charming in a gothic naked rock music way. The drinks are great. Tex & the Wednesday night bartender ( I didn’t grab her name) made our visit a great experience

7 months agoMy fave rock and roll bar EVER! Just the coolest vibes all around, great entrance and walk through the alley, second floor is even more amazing. Don’t be intimidated to venture up! And BEST rock music EVER! So much fun! I would go to New Orleans just to go to this bar alone. 😊

5 months agoThe Dungeon has the tourist formula down pretty well. It’s not trying to be fancy, and that works in its favor. The bartenders were friendly and quick with service, which kept things moving even when it got busy. The place is laid out across several small rooms, including a dance floor on the upper level, which makes it fun to explore a bit rather than feeling like one big crowded space. Their specialty frozen/slushy drink is worth trying. I recommend asking for it with the liqueur they have the cherries soaking in, which adds a nice touch. One thing that stood out was the strict no photos or video policy inside the venue. Honestly, that’s kind of refreshing. It cuts down on people constantly stopping in just to take selfies for social media and helps keep the vibe focused on actually enjoying the bar. Overall, it’s a fun stop if you’re bar hopping in the Quarter and want something a little different.
